Growth & research

The best data is behind the membership wall.

Public sources have been scraped to exhaustion. The data that still differentiates, member directories, tender boards, trade registers, exchange listings, association rosters, sits behind a login, and the login is the point.

What a person does today

Tabs, filters, copy, paste, repeat

  1. Sign in as a member

Your firm’s membership is what grants access. That is exactly why the data is not public, and why a crawler cannot reach it.

  2. Run the same search repeatedly

Filter by sector, region, size or date. The portal paginates ten results at a time. There is no export button, or the export is limited to the current page.

  3. Open each record

Contact details, turnover band, certification status, last filing date whatever the register holds.

  4. Assemble it and keep it current

Into a sheet, then into the CRM. By the time it is there, some of it is stale, and nobody repeats the exercise next quarter.

What PreLogin runs instead

The directory becomes a feed

  • Structured extraction: pull a page of results out as rows and fields, not screenshots.
  • Scheduled refresh: weekly or monthly, so the list stops decaying.
  • Multi-page walks: a run can click through to the next page and extract again; the depth is declared in the step list, so you decide how far it goes.
  • Multiple sources in one run: each association is its own step sequence against the same session.
  • Webhook delivery straight into your enrichment pipeline or CRM, where your own code decides what is new.

Run it as a member, under your own membership, the same access a person at your firm has, just without the copying.

Check the terms of the source

This use case sits closest to the line, so be deliberate. Many membership directories and tender boards explicitly prohibit automated extraction or redistribution. If yours does, that is binding on you, and we will not help design around it. Where the terms permit access but not redistribution, use the data internally and do not resell it.

What is normally fine

Using data your own membership entitles you to see, for your own pipeline, at a human pace, is generally inside the spirit of most membership terms. Keep the crawl rate modest, identify yourself honestly, and do not attempt to bypass access controls.

Rate and volume

We will not run a high-volume crawl against a membership portal. The realistic shape is a scheduled refresh of a bounded result set, which is also what keeps your membership in good standing.

The honest failure mode

Sources here change their layout fairly often, and a directory redesign will break an extraction. Budget for occasional maintenance rather than expecting it to run untouched for a year.

Bring the source, and its terms.

We’ll tell you what is feasible and what the terms allow.
